Today I am taking a detour from discussing all things organized.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as a 4-year survivor myself, spreading awareness is near and dear to my heart.
I was diagnosed with what would eventually be stage 2 breast cancer at the “young” age of 35.  I did not have a strong family history of breast cancer and I did all the right things: didn’t smoke, breastfeed both of my kids, and was even a vegetarian. But none of that frightened cancer away.
