Meet Debbie

Debbie Jordan KravitzDebbie best describes her journey to becoming a Professional Organizer in an excerpt from her recently published book, Everything I Know About Perfectionism I Learned From My Breasts: Secrets and Solutions for Overpowering Perfectionism.

I finally realized life is too unpredictable to waste time on perfection. You have to learn to make due with a less-than-perfectly-organized household, and instead spend more time with your family and friends. You need to relax, be patient, and enjoy the simple things life has to offer. And above all, you need to extend outside your own narrow comfort zone and try things you might actually fail. After my battle with cancer, I learned to ski, quite unsuccessfully I might add, and I learned to play Texas Hold’em poker. In my very first poker tournament in Atlantic City, New Jersey, I beat out over 50 people to actually finish in 6th place! Look who is taking chances, now!

Post-perfectionism, I finally had the courage to do something I had secretly dreamed of. I took yet another chance and started my own business, D & R Custom Organizers (now Virtually Organized by Debbie), and became a Professional Organizer. I truly enjoy helping others realize the benefits of organization, simplicity, and letting go of perfection. It is amazing how many people simply live with the clutter and chaos because they do not think they can ever get it perfectly organized. They tell themselves, why even bother? Why fall short? My goal is to help them learn to let go of the concept of perfection and instead aim for, and be satisfied with, being organized enough.

Wherever you are in your organizing challenges, Debbie is here to help! She operates according to a simple philosophy of always striving to leave the client’s project area customized, organized, and simplified. Debbie believes organizing is less about products and cute containers and more about restoring simplicity to our busy lives. An organized household saves you time, improves your quality of life, and helps you feel more productive and satisfied.

Debbie will truly listen to what you want to achieve and design a specific plan to meet those needs. Her organizing solutions work because they are designed specifically for you.

Debbie will never judge or criticize your current space. Instead, she will motivate you and help you focus on the outcome you will achieve as a result of teamwork. In addition, she will teach you valuable organizing skills along the way so that once the job is complete, the area stays organized and maintenance becomes a natural way of life for you.
